2023 is my maiden year of what I intend to turn into a yearly tradition:
I am excited to announce my
2023 ladies’ retreat at my farmhouse in Umbria!
Sunday June 25 to Sunday July 2, 2023
TOGETHER:
The plan is to offer a relaxing and safe space for up to 8 ladies to enjoy one week of camaraderie, peace, painting, writing, photography and yoga time, so we may focus on ourselves and our minds, away from the every day. We will enjoy wholesome meals, wine tastings for those who would like to participate, creative activities such as painting the beautiful landscapes or whatever else you are inspired by, hiking around the hills and historic villages around the farm while capturing it all in photographs, and becoming one with our bodies and minds through yoga and meditation sessions. This is a safe space for all ladies to enjoy, for love to surround us, and for us to reconnect with our soul. We may cry together, we may laugh together, we may share stories together and we will certainly enjoy the rich Umbrian food and wine traditions with home cooked meals and delicious tastings in beautiful vineyards and eateries surrounding the farm. I know we will all leave our retreat refreshed and inspired for life!
THE FARMHOUSE:
The farmhouse name is Casale Delle Querce. This is where we will call home for one week. It is down the hill from the little village of Giove in the Green Heart of Italy (the Umbria region). Giove has 1000 inhabitants and an 11th century castle (not to mention the wonderful alleyways and sweeping views of the Tiber valley below). This is a peaceful village with lovely people ready to welcome us when we explore outside of the farmhouse. The surrounding valley has other wonderful little villages on top of other hills, all offering lots of history and art for us to be inspired by.
The Casale is beautiful. Two structures on 9 acres of lush green land. There is a big sparkly swimming pool, olive trees and many other fruit trees, as well as hundreds of majestic oaks all around. One structure was built in the 1700s and is made of local stone. It has one big master bedroom with one king sized bed + one smaller den with queen sized sofa sleeper. The other structure was built in the 1990s into two independent apartments in front of the swimming pool, with one king sized bed and queen sofa sleeper in each. 8 ladies will become sisters for one week (and beyond, as well will bond beyond belief) and will share these 4 rooms.
HOW TO REACH US:
It is simple to reach me at the farmhouse. Simply purchase your flight to Rome. I will pick everyone up personally at the airport (airport code is FCO) in a big van so we may all drive together to the farmhouse (only 1 hour and 15 minutes north of Rome). We will then have this van at our disposal for when we visit villages and hiking trails around the farmhouse throughout our week together. Once we arrive at the Casale, we will settle into our rooms, relax, shower, unpack and then will enjoy our first in-house dinner together. This is a time to get to know each other, to relax and to rest from the flight. We will begin our experiences on day 2, once we will have all made ourselves at home overnight. No rush and no pressure <3
SETTING THE SCENE:
We will be surrounded by 9 private acres of land with trees, fields, forests and beautiful views. To the east of us you will see the village of Giove perched on top of the hill, to the north, west and eat of us you will see the valley and the hills, all green and lush, with sunshine all day long and beautiful evening sunsets. The large terra-cotta terrace overlooking the valley is a perfect place for our morning meditation and yoga, and for our sunset wine and food experiences. If you are a reader, bring books, take one of our lounge chairs into the fields below, sit under a massive oak tree and take your time. When it comes time for us to dabble with watercolors, we will pick a beautiful shady spot under the trees to draw and be inspired by. One of the experiences I would love to offer is hiking on the country roads and trails that surround us, while we learn about the local flora and even pick edible plants to cook with once we return to our home. Photography has been a part of me for 20+ years so we will enjoy a lovely photography lesson or two as we find inspiration during our village visits. We will then display our chosen images during dinner at the Casale as I know we will have created magical pieces of art. The closest hilltop village to our farmhouse is Giove which is cozy and so lovely. There is a hiking trail to it from our farmhouse fo anyone to use during our free time, or we will have the van to take us there (and to other villages and vineyards) anytime. Only 20 minutes away by van, is the famously stunning village of Orvieto, with it’s impressive Duomo, delicious white wine traditions, St Patrick’s well archaeological site and a fascinating Etruscan era underground. This will be one of our planned excursions which I am so excited about.

$2600 per person for 4 to 8 ladies (double occupancy)
$4500 per person for complete privacy (SIngle occupancy)
(4 minimum for this wonderful ladies only retreat to become reality)
DETAILS:
Lodging in Casale Delle Querce (Umbria historic farmhouse villa) is provided for 7 days/6 nights
Pick up and drop off at Rome’s FCO airport (as well as transportation for our activities during the week)
All meals provided (including wine tastings, in house cooking, restaurants) minus on open days when you are free to roam
Painting materials provided (canvas or paper, brushes and watercolors)
Yoga and meditation sessions
Writing journal
Your flight to and form Italy is the only transportation not included as we each have our own preferences
Please bring a camera for photography (I have 1 extra to loan you in case you don’t have one)
Bring a tablet or laptop if you’d like to use the Wifi (by design, there are no TVs in the farmhouse)
